Тема: «Страны и континенты».
Коммуникативная ситуация учебного занятия: «Что мы знаем о странах и континентах».
Цель урока: способствовать развитию умений говорения учащихся в рамках коммуникативной ситуации урока.
Предполагаемый результат: предполагается, что к окончанию учебного занятия учащиеся смогут составить высказывание в рамках предложенной коммуникативной ситуации.
Задачи: 1) создать атмосферу иноязычного общения; 2) учить учащихся пользоваться английским языком во всех видах речевой деятельности в рамках коммуникативной ситуации урока; 3) способствовать развитию логики и памяти у обучаемых и овладению основными способами мыслительной деятельности; 4) содействовать воспитанию уважительного отношения к другим странам и континентам; 5) создать условия для развития умений говорения.
Языковой материал: continents; birds and animals on different continents; articles with geographical names; a carnival, coffee, football, pasta, pizza.
Речевой материал: текст о Бразилии и Италии; песни “I’ve got the whole world in my hands”, “What a wonderful world”.
Оборудование урока: учебное пособие по английскому языку для 5 класса, Л.М. Лапицкая – 2-е изд., 2014; карточки; картинки; компьютер.
Применяемые формы деятельности: фронтальная, индивидуальная, парная, групповая.
ХОД УРОКА
ОРГАНИЗАЦИОННО-МОТИВАЦИОННЫЙ ЭТАП
1) Речевая зарядка. (7 мин)
Задачи этапа: создать атмосферу иноязычного общения, активизировать ранее изученный материал. Сообщить цель, тему, мотивировать.
Good morning, pupils! I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. How are you? Fine? That’s great! Who’s absent? What is the date today? What day of week is it today? Good! How do you think what is the topic of our lesson? First of all, look at the screen. (показать учащимся карту на мониторе) What is it? It’s our planet. So, try to guess, what are we going to speak about? Yes, you’re absolutely right. We’ll continue to speak about countries and continents, we’ll check what you know about the world, about animals and birds on different continents, we’ll read an interesting text about different countries ant at the end of the lesson you are to tell which country would you like to go to and why?
You know that we live on the planet Earth. Look! It’s a map. What colour is our planet? (Blue, green, yellow, etc.) Is it beautiful? Yes, it’s very beautiful. And now, pupils, let’s remember the song about our world. Listen to the song and sing it. (ex. 1 p. 86)

Good! So, let’s remember some facts about our planet. How many continents do you know? Name them. (South America, North America, Eurasia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica) Find them on the map. Find the oceans on the map. Name them. Well-done!
ОСНОВНАЯ ЧАСТЬ УРОКА
1) Проверка домашнего задания.
Задача этапа: проконтролировать выполнение домашнего задания. Активизировать ЛЕ.
At home you had to revise material about countries and continents. Let’s check it. At first, pupils, guess the riddles about continents. We’ll see, are you good at geography or not?
This continent is washed by the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. (Antarctica)
It is the biggest continent? (Eurasia)
It is the smallest continent? (Australia)
It is the hottest continent? (Africa)
It is the coldest continent? (Antarctica)
It is a continent where the USA are situated. (North America)
It is a continent where Belarus is situated. (South America)
Well-done! You are really good at geography.
And now let’s remember different places of our planet. Let’s play a little bit (‘Association game’). I’ll say you different places and throw the ball, your task is to catch the ball and name associations with these places (a desert – dry, hot, cold (at night); the jungle – wet, hot; a mountain – high, cold, windy; an ocean – deep). Good!
So, we’ve already revised continents and different places. Now let’s speak about animals. What animals and birds of different continents do you know? I’ll throw you the ball, your task is to catch it and name the animals and birds on different continents. (a kangaroo, a panda, a bison …). Good! I will show you the flashcards and you are to say me what is on the flashcards. Where do these animals live? For example, I think ostriches live in Africa. Where do bison (pandas, cheetahs …) live? Now, pupils, work in pairs. I’ll give you the cards. There are some questions in them. And you are to discuss the questions in pairs. Questions: Which animals are fast? Which animals are slow? Which animals are noisy? Which animals are quiet?

Задача этапа: снять психическое напряжение у учащихся путём переключения на другой вид деятельности.
Are you tired? It’s time to relax. Stand up, please. Now I’ll show you the pictures of animals and birds and your task is to imitate them (a panda, a cheetah, an eagle …, a penguin). Good! Take your place.
1) Предтекстовый этап. (8 мин)
Задачи этапа: снять языковые трудности, ознакомить с темой и понятиями, упоминаемыми в тексте.

Задача этапа: снять языковые и смысловые трудности при выполнении домашнего задания.

2) Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия (1 мин).
Задачи этапа: оценить работу учащихся, выставить отметки.
