PERSONAL COMPUTERS

       The process of human interaction with computers has more than 40 years. Recently, only specialists could participate in this process - engineers, mathematicians - programmers, operators. In recent years there have been dramatic changes in the field of computing. Thanks to the development and implementation of microprocessors in the structure of a computer appeared small, user-friendly personal computers. Situation changed, the role of the user can be not only a specialist in computing, but also any person, whether school or a housewife, doctor or teacher, worker or engineer. Often this phenomenon called the phenomenon of a personal computer. Currently world park personal computers exceeds 20 million. The structure of a computer is a model that establishes the composition, order, and principles of interaction of its components. A personal computer is a desktop or portable computer that satisfies the requirements of general accessibility and versatility of application.

The advantages of the PC are:

· Low cost, which is within the range of availability for the individual buyer;

· Autonomy of operation without special requirements to environmental conditions;

· Architecture flexibility, ensuring its adaptability to a variety of applications in the field of management, science, education, in everyday life;

· "Friendliness" of the operating system and other software, which predetermines the possibility of the user to work with it without special professional training;

· High reliability of work (more than 5 thousand hours of time between failures).

PC structure

Usually a personal computer consists of three parts:

system unit;

keyboard, allowing to enter characters into the computer;

monitor (or display) - for the image of text or graphic information.

Computers are also available in a portable version (as a diplomat) or in a notebook (notebook) version. Here, the system unit, monitor and keyboard are enclosed in one case: the system unit is “hidden” under the keyboard, and the monitor is made as a lid to the keyboard. Although of these parts of the computer system unit looks the least impressive, it is he who is the "main" in the computer.

It contains all the main components of the computer:

electronic circuits that control the operation of the computer (microprocessors, RAM, device controllers);

a power unit that converts the power supply of the network into a low-voltage direct current supplied to the electronic circuits of the computer;

drives (or drives) for floppy disks used to read and write to floppy disks (floppy disks);

hard disk drive designed to read and write to non-removable hard magnetic disks (hard drive).
