Pamela Lyndon Travers (1899-1996) is an English writer. Her real name is Helen Lyndon Goff. She was born in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia.
When she was 15, her poems and articles began to appear in Australian newspapers and magazines.
In 1924, Pamela moved to England. There she met some famous poets and writers who helped her to publish her poems.
But her first real success was in 1934 publication of Mary Poppins.

Transleted into more than a dozen languages, Mary Poppins was very popular all over the world.
In 1935 it was followed by Mary Poppins comes back, Mary Poppins opens the door, Mary Poppins in the park and others.
