Цели:

активизация лексики по теме «Изучение английского языка»;

совершенствование навыков устной речи и аудирования;

тренировка грамматических навыков;

расширение кругозора и воспитание толерантности;

развитие творческих способностей учащихся;

привитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка.

ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ:

1. Организационный момент.

Good morning, everybody! I am glad to see you. Today we shall have a competition of 3 teams. The topic of our competition is “Learning the English Language”. It’s time to find put the names of our teams.

2. Конкурс «Presentation of the teams».

Команды по очереди выходят на сцену и представляют свое название, девиз и эмблему. Жюри оценивает данный конкурс по пятибалльной системе. Название команды должно быть связано с темой мероприятия.

3. Конкурс «About the English language ». The first task for our teams is to agree or disagree with my statements. If the statement is false, correct it, please. If it is true, repeat it after me. Our teams will do the task one by one.

1. American English doesn’t differ from the English spoken in Great Britain.
2. There are two English - speaking countries in the world.
3. English has taken the position of the world language.
4. There are many borrowing from other languages in English.
5. The English language has a vocabulary of about 300 000 words.
6. All dictionaries are always made in two languages.

8. There are thirty - six letters in the English alphabet.
9. English is one of the most popular foreign languages in Russia.

4. Конкурс “Competition for captains”.

I want our captains to go to this table. They will get the special task. They will have to complete the sentences with the “speaking” verbs.

 Customer : What? Do you think I can't buy more?

Poet: Have you got my books of poems?

“Jessie, I have told you again and again not to speak when older persons are talking but wait until they stop”.

Passerby: Why are crying, little girl?

Little girl: Because my brother has holiday and I don’t!

Passerby: Well, why don’t you have holidays?

Little girl: Because I don’t go to school.
