- Cubism was a popular painting style, which dates back to 1900. The typical feature of Cubism is that painters took different real images broke them down into shapes such as rectangles, cylinders and cubes then put these shapes back together to represent these images in another way, sometimes very unusual and surprising.
The most popular painters :
- Pablo Picasso
- Georges Braque
- They used Cubism to show people a new way of seeing world. Most of their paintings were dark and used gloomy, dull colours like grey,brown.
