Country Mouse and Town Mouse

Урок английского языка в 5 классе.

Тема: Country Mouse and Town Mouse.

Цель: выработать у учащихся навыки общения в практической деятельности.

Задачи:

Образовательная:

• Знать: лексический, грамматический материал урока и темы, расширить словарный запас.

• Уметь: понимать речь на слух, понимать прочитанный текст, извлекать информацию и отвечать на вопросы; составлять высказывания по опорам и по образцу.

Воспитательная:

• Вовлечь в активную практическую деятельность.

• Совершенствовать навыки общения.

Развивающая:

• Совершенствовать навыки восприятия и понимания речи на слух, поискового и просмотрового чтения, диалогическую и монологическую и речь.

Тип урока: урок обучения умениям и навыкам.

Форма урока: комбинированный.

Оборудование: учебник, Workbook 5, компьютер, цифровая интерактивная доска, карточки с заданиями.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный этап. Формулировка темы урока. Целеполагание. Мотивация.

Good morning, children. How are you? I am glad to see you. Hope, you’re ready for the final lesson on the topic “On the farm” and the final lesson of the term.

To start doing something we need to set our aims. I need your help. Go to the board and tick the right sentence on the board. What can we do today at the lesson?

We can… at the lesson (read, watch the video, listen, water flowers, write, break a tree, speak, milk cows, answer the questions, feed the animals).

So, we can do the following to learn to speak better English.

1. Актуализация лексических единиц по теме раздела.

We already know a lot of word combinations on the topic. Let’s recollect them.

Your task is to sort out these activities and places between country and town. (Задание выполняется на цифровой интерактивной доске).

Active vocabulary: pick berries, pick mushrooms, play on swings, play on slides, play on a seesaw, go fishing, go for a swim, go rollerblading, watch a play, watch a concert, play computer games, go bird watching, grow fruit and vegetables; go to the woods, go to the river, go to the theatre, go to the cinema, go to the circus, go to the zoo, go on a picnic, go to the museum, go to the library, go to the supermarket, go to the shop, go to the lake, go to the disco, go to a concert hall.

1. Проверка домашнего задания. Workbook – ex. 2, p. 64-65 – read complete sentences.

At home you had to complete the sentences about life in town and in the country. Let’s read the sentences.

And now I want you to meet Molly and her friend Marco. They are mice. One of them lives in town and the other one lives in the country. Watch the video and be ready to answer my questions.

Molly and Marco are not the only mice we know. We have already read the story of Town Mouse and Country Mouse. Today we are going to read the second part of the story.

1. ex. 1, p. 84-85 – listen to my reading of the text, follow me in the book and answer the question Did Town Mouse like the country? Why (not)?

2. ex. 2, p. 85 (WB – ex. 1, p. 65-66):

   • correct sentences in your workbooks (use the helpful hints on the board);

   • check yourselves with the help of the board.

3. ex. 3a, p. 85 – put the actions in the correct order – on the digital board.

4. ex. 3b, p. 85 – let’s pretend that we are Country Mouse – retell the story using the previous exercise. Do this exercise together.

5. ex. 3b, p. 85 – let’s pretend that we are Town Mouse – retell the story using the previous exercise. Do this exercise in pairs.

Now you know the whole story about Town Mouse and Country Mouse. But what would you choose: a town or the country? Go to the board and make your choice (put your picture to the town or to the country). Explain your choice.
