Information about the class:
There are 12 students in the class from Russia. The students are at elementary level and I have been teaching them for three years for two hours a week.
The students are a bit lazy but they are keen on learning. They like telling about themselves and I prepared an exercise to improve their speaking according to the topic.

Students already know adverbs of frequency, the forms of the verb «to be», the usage of the verbs in Present Simple in positive and negative sentences. They are familiar with the most verbs expressing daily routine activities

This lesson is going to focus on extension of usage adverbs of frequency in activities connected with daily routine through writing and apply their knowledge in speaking practice questions «How often do you…?»

Adverbs of frequency T pays attention to the time line on the board and makes Ss revise the words: How can you answer the question «how often…?» Please arrange them according to the timeline. Writes the adverbs near the percentage. Today we’re going to work with these words. Ok, how often? (SS:always or every day, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never)
The T attracts Ss’ attention to the screen. Task: Look! There is a test. Please put the adverbs of frequency in the correct place in the sentence. (See scan 1 on p.6)
Now one by one read sentences and try to place the adverb in the right place
The T shows Ss the video with the rule (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG0N1TMtyDw)
Once again Ss are working on the test (see scan 1 on p.6) Paircheck. The T monitors Ss complete their task and asks them the answers (sees scan 2 on p.7)
The T asks Ss look at the form on the board and give examples. NB! Give the example with negative form of Present Simple.
The T asks Ss to open their Ss books on p. 9 and do exercises 1 and 2 in writing. (see scan 3 on p.8) The T then asks each S to give one answer.
Survey The T asks Ss to work in groups of 4. While asking each other question «How often…?» they write the names of their peers in the table under the correct adverb of frequency according to the answer. ( see Worksheet on p. 9)
Ss say what their partner said
Ss take one slip of paper, read the statement and insert the proper adverb of frequency in each sentence. (see Woksheet on p. 10 to be cut into slips))
