And

● put the knowledge into practice.

First, we will talk about subject and object pronouns.

Subject pronouns

The translation is:

Личные местоимения

We use these pronouns before the verb.

For example:

She plays the piano very well.

In this sentence “she” is the subject pronoun and it stands before the verb “plays”.

Now let’s talk about “Object pronouns”.

The translation is:

Личные местоимения в объектном падеже

We use these pronouns after the verb.

For instance:

Listen to her!

In this sentence “her” is the object pronoun and it stands after the verb “listen”.

Now look at the screen, please!

Here you can see the list of subject pronouns and object pronouns.

The subject pronouns are:

I (Я)

He (Он)

She (Она)

It (Оно)

You (Ты, вы)

We (Мы)

They (Они)

The object pronouns are:

Me (Мне, меня)

Him (Ему, его)

Her (Ей, её)

It (Ему, его, ей, её) But pay attention! We use “it” to represent anything except people.

You (тебе, тебя, вам, вас)

Us (Нам, нас)

Them (Им, их)

Possessive adjectives

Притяжательные местоимения

We use these adjectives in front of nouns.

For example:

His car is in front of the school.

Or

Cody, look! This is my new bicycle.

In these two sentences the words “his” and “my” are the possessive adjectives and they stand in front of the nouns “car” and “bicycle”.

Now let’s answer the question:

When do we use possessive adjectives?

We use them to show that something belongs to someone.

For example:

Kevin lives in London. His house is big and beautiful.

Possessive adjectives are also used to show relationship.

For instance:

James, how old is your sister?

We use these adjectives to talk about parts of the body.

For example:

Kaitlyn is brushing her teeth now.

Now look at the screen, please!

Here you can see the list of possessive adjectives.

And they are:
