1. When Edward IV died in April 1483, a child inherited the throne. Edward had left two sons: the twelve-year-old lad who now became Edward V and Richard aged nine. For young Edward that was a difficult time as he was  between two fighting parties. The first one was headed by his mother, the second one- by his uncle.

2. A family tree is a history chart of a family.It shows you your brothers and sisters, your parents and grandparents and so on, as far back as you can go. The family tree can give dates of birth and it looks like a tree with branches connecting all the members of your family.

3. Hans Christian Andersen  was not a good- looking boy in his childhood. He had a large nose and a lng sad face. A lot of neighbours mad fun of him. But the boy wanted to became famous. Nobody believed that it was possible.But it was.Hans became famous as a talented writer of children`s stories.

4. Hans Longfellow, a famous American writer and poet, spent a large period of his life in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1843 Longfellow and his wife Frances Appleton moved into a large yellow house, where years before George Washington had lived. All six of the Longfellow children were born in that house. Longfellow lived in it until his death in 1882.

5. Americans believe that if they work hard, they can have what they want. Perhaps this is why Americans are so hard-working. They do not take many vacations. There are only five of them which people celebrate all over the country. There are  New Year`s  Day, Independence Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. There are some other special days, but not all the states celebrate them.
