Aim:

To introduce the topic of travelling through general discussion; to learn and use phrases to talk about travelling; to develop skimming and scanning skills; to allocate summary sentences to paragraphs in the text; to develop self-assessment of speaking, reading; to bring up the interest to the given subject; to teach to work in groups.

Students will be able to:

To use the topic vocabulary in speech; to work in groups productively and cooperatively; to get used to reading for global meaning without being worried about individual unfamiliar words; to speak about travelling

Theme:

The travel bug.

Aim:

To introduce the topic of travelling through general discussion; to learn and use phrases to talk about travelling; to develop skimming and scanning skills; to allocate summary sentences to paragraphs in the text; to develop self-assessment of speaking, reading; to bring up the interest to the given subject; to teach to work in groups.

Discover traditions, broaden general outlook, ferry, carriage and etc.

Look at the board and try to guess the missing word.

’’The world is a book and those who do not….. read only a page”

What do you think about travelling?

Do you like to travel?

Why do you travel?

Guess the missing word and discuss about travelling. Give opinions and share the ideas.

3.Discussion

1.Give the synonyms to the word ‘Travel’

Say why people travel to the foreign countries



Why?











2. Give the card with the sentences on the topic

Give synonyms. Give the opinion.

Eg. To make friends, to visit new places, to meet people, to learn a language, to know the history, culture








Agree or disagree with the following statements

Eg. Tourists always travel on business

4. Group work

There is a speaker, time keeper and observer in each group

Find all pros and cons of travelling.

One group is fond of travelling and second group hates it.
