Teacher: Now, pupils let’s continue our lesson. Today we have an unusual lesson. Today we have guests from Great Britain and the USA. They want to know about our country and I hope we help them. So, our today’s task is to speak, to ask and to answer the questions about Kazakhstan.
The theme of our new lesson: Step8. Speaking about Kazakhstan.
The Republic of Kazakhstan is situated in the Central Asia. The area of Kazakhstan
is 2 753 000 square kilometres. It extends 1900km from West to east, and 1300km from North to the South. Its population is about 17 million. Astana is the capital of Kazakhstan. Kazakh is the state language, and Russian is the official language.
Kazakhstan borders China, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kirgizia.
There four rivers are the main resources of water in the country. They are Ertis, Syrdarya, Ural, Illi. The largest lakes are Balhash, Zaisan, Ala - Kol, Tengiz. .
