Professional English in Metallurgy; Materials Science

This tutorial is designed in accordance with the curriculum and syllabus of Karaganda State Technical University. It is intended for intermediate and upper-intermediate students’ levelof the “Metallurgy’’, ‘’Materials Science’’ specialities. The contents of texts correspond to programs of special disciplines, and are intended for students who study the profession focused English, having basic knowledge in discipline "English".

The course is oriented to the modern trends of the present day and based on the original English language materials, adapted texts from foreign scientific and technical journals and the Internet resources. This tutorial is also intended for students who have acquainted with the given specialty vocabulary, grammar and phraseological material.

It is aimed at developing and mastering reading, speaking, writing and listening skills and holding discussions. Exercises used in the textbook are for mastering professional vocabulary and developing habits of oral speech.
