Задачи:

1. воспитание любви к родной стране, родному городу;

2. развитие познавательной активности учащихся;

3. привитие интереса к английскому языку;

4. развитие внимания, мышления, памяти учащихся.

Наглядные пособия: набор открыток «Тула», карточки с заданиями, аудиоприложение (CD MP3).

Ход викторины.

I. Составить английские пословицы, назвать русские соответствующие пословицы.

1. or / home / best / east / is / west

2. like / is / home / there / place / no

II. Ответить на вопросы о Москве:

1. How old is Moscow?

2. Where is Moscow situated?

3. Who founded Moscow?

4. What is the national symbol of Russia?

5. What colours does Russian flag have?

6. What is the capital of our country?

III. Ответить на вопросы о Туле:

1. What is your native town?

2. Is it a town or a city?

3. What is the population of your town?

4. Are there many parks, museums, theatres in it?

5. What is your town famous for?

6. Are there many historical places in it?

7. What else can you say about your native town?

8. What is the most beautiful street in the town?

IV. Расшифровать название одной из самых известных деревень в мире.

(Yasnaya Polyana)

V. Составить предложения:

А) 1. Leo Tolstoy is … b) his first Sevastopol`s stories.

2. He was born …  the greatest Russian writer.

3. As a young man … `War and Peace`.

4. There he wrote … he served in the army.

5. In 1869 he finished …  `Anna Karelina`.

6. In 1877 he finished …  in 1828 at the family estate in Yasnaya Polyana.

7. In the end of his life … Tolstoy left Yasnaya Polyana.

VI. Составить словосочетания со словами `country`, `town` (Adj+N).

VII. Ответить на вопросы о Дне Победы:

1. What day is the 9^th of May?

2. Why do we celebrate Victory Day?
