First, go through PPP and revise the words for sport. Then, divide sts into 2 groups, draw a line on the board to divide it into two halves, show them pictures for words of sport. Tell them that you would show them a picture and a representative of each group should come to the whiteboard, take a marker and write the appropriate word as quickly as he/she can. For each word written correctly the team gets a point.
Practice writing words for sport
Hand out worksheets and have sts look through the list of words, tell them that they have 2 min to memorize the spelling of the words. Then, they should fold the sheets so that they will not see the words and write them down by memory. When they finish, give them green pens, tell them that they can unfold their sheets of paper and check themselves on their own. ***Differentiation by support. Less confident sts can unfold the paper, look at each word, memorize it, then fold the worksheet and write down word by word. |
