Tatar Academic Opera and Ballet named after Musa Jalil - one of the nation's largest music theater in Russia, Russian media tradition, the world and the Tatar national music culture.
The theater building was built in 1956 (architects and Skvortsov Gainutdinov). Facades and interiors of the theater in the style of the modern neo-classical and classical forms combined with the Tatar national ornaments and items of decorative art.
In March 1956 the theater was named Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil. Before the war the famous Tatar poet, who died in Nazi captivity, was in charge of the theater of the literary section.
