Урок английского языка

в 6-Б классе на тему

 " Travelling to America "

Цель урока: обобщить, систематизировать знания о США, а также транслировать их через презентацию.

Основные задачи урока:

Образовательные:

• Развивать произносительные навыки; развивать умения и навыки аудирования с извлечением необходимой информации

• Развивать умения устной речи с опорой на текст.

Развивающие:

• Способствовать развитию памяти, внимания, языковой догадки, логического мышления.

Воспитательные:

• Развивать лингвострановедческий кругозор учащихся.

• Способствовать повышению интереса к изучению иностранного языка.

• Учить работать в разных режимах: в парах, в группах.

Тип урока: урок повторения и обобщения изученного материала.

Формы работы на уроке: хоровая, фронтальная, групповая, парная.

Методы работы: словесный, метод наглядности, метод самостоятельной работы, вопросно-ответные упражнения, иллюстративный.

Оснащение урока: учебники, рабочие тетради, карточки с заданиями, карта США.

Оборудование урока:

1. Техническое обеспечение: демонстрационный экран, мультимедийный проектор.

2. Программное обеспечение: Microsoft Power Point, Word, программы сканирования и обработки изображений.

Ход урока

I. ОРГ.МОМЕНТ.

 Good morning, children! I am very glad to see you again! Please, sit down.

– Who is on duty today?

– Who is absent today?

– What date is it today?

– What day of the week is it today?

– What is the weather like today?

– Let’s begin our lesson.

II. ОСНОВНАЯ ЧАСТЬ УРОКА.

T. Pupils, do you like singing? Let’s remember the song “This Land Is Your Land”. Listen to the song and sing together.

T. Well done!

T.  Did you guess what the theme of our lesson is?

– Right, the theme of the lesson is  «Travelling to America»

T. Do you like to travel? What can you tell me about travelling?

Geographical Position of the USA (Приложение 3)

The USA occupies the central part of the North American continent. It borders on Canada in the north and Mexico in the south. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east, by the Pacific Ocean in the west and by the Gulf of Mexico in the south.
The area of the country is about 9,400,000 km2. Its population is about 256 million people.It is a country of mountains and prairies, valleys and deserts. About one half of the territory in the west is occupied by the Cordilleras. In the east there are the Appalachian Mountains
The Rocky Mountains extend from Alaska through Canada and the USA to Mexico. Many rivers cross the country. The most important are the Mississippi, Missouri, Colorado, Sacramento.  American rivers have very expressive names: the Snake River, the Milk River, the Green River, the Sweetwater River, the White River. The main lakes in the USA are the Great Lakes in the north.

Political system in USA (Приложение 4)

The United States of America is federal republic consisting of fifty states. The president, elected for four years. Congress consist of two houses, the House of Representatives and the Senate. Election day is always in the month of November. In the USA there are two main political parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican party. The first president of USA was George Washington.

Barack H. Obama is the 44th President of the United States. President Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. From his childhood Barack Obama likes playing basketball. Obama can speak Indonesian and Spanish. He was elected the 44th President of the United States on November 4, 2008. He and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of two daughters, Malia, 17, and Sasha, 14. To become a US President you must…

• be 35 or older;

• be a US citizen born in the USA;

• have lived in the USA at least 14 years.

Holidays in USA (Приложение 5)

Every country has customs and traditions. I want to tell you about some holidays and traditions in USA.

There are a lot of holidays in the USA. The main holidays of the USA are Christmas, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.

Christmas is usually a one-day official holiday. It is a family holiday. Schools and colleges close between Christmas and New-Year's Day. People stay at home and spend the time with their families. At Easter there is a tradition for people to buy new clothes. After church services many people take walks along the streets of their towns, wearing their new Easter hats and suits. This is usually called the "Easter Parade".

Memorial Day comes on May 30. It is dedicated to the memory of those who died for America in different wars. The national flags are put on the graves of soldiers on this day.

The 4th of July, an Independence Day, is the biggest national holiday of the USA. On this day in 1776 a document, known as the Declaration of Independence, was adopted. Thanksgiving Day comes on the fourth Thursday of November.

13
