Introduction

"The main element of the quality of teaching is adequate understanding and evaluation of the process of building a teacher understanding of the subject individual students. This responsibility is accepted in part because of a student environment, the teacher creates in the classroom. "In his opinion, "the quality of teaching can be represented as a teaching based on the" three teachings ".

Quality of teaching is not only becomes possible when the conditions for learning, and moreover - it depends on them. Qualified teacher "regulates" the elements of teaching, as it is located in the center of events in relation to students, environment and resources "(Teachers' Guide).

In order to become a truly educational process quality, keeping up with the times, it is necessary, first, to start change with the teacher, with ourselves. Once again stand on the same level with a student, learning to be modern in education, then to teach, to convey the essence of the student's knowledge. And this helped me a lot on training courses that refract my mind, my perspective on teaching and learning through the lens of 7 modules.

The teacher is an organizer and assistant. Students choose for themselves what sources to use, share their ideas. Seeing the effectiveness of learning to practice through dialogue (pair and group work). I can see what kind of culture in each student. And the fact that the weak students learn from stronger, and the same strong start to listen to the poor. And this relationship leads to enormous foreign language learning results of the group.

"Teacher of the new formation - intellectual and socially mature, creative person, competent person professionally owns the entire arsenal of educational tools, striving for continuous self-improvement. He is responsible in the formation and development of a highly creative person and a maximum fulfillment "(N.A. Nazarbayev).

This methodical guide in the English language is based on a program of training with the Cambridge Centre of Excellence Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (Third (basic) level) in order to help teachers evaluate and develop their teaching practice. Your attention is a series of consecutive lessons in the 5th grade textbook Ayapova T., and D. Ukbaev and includes 7 modules of the Program.

Topic of the lesson: The Environment

Class: 5

Aim: Knowledge of basic information on the new theme and the ability to operate with it in practice. Formation of the students to the topic of interest, self-regulation skills in group work.

Objectives: At the end of the lesson the students will be able to: use new vocabulary on the topic, express their point of view, think critically.

Resources: book “English” T.T. Ayapova, D.B. Ukbaev, copy-books, dictionaries, smart board, markers, posters and stickers.

Assessment: summative

5). What do you think? What can we do to help the environment?

6). Why people pollute the nature?

7). Why people should protect the environment?

Activity 3. Draw “A tree predictions”.

Trunk of the tree will be the theme of our lesson, branch of the tree will be assumptions and leaves will be result of the problem.

Activity 2. Work with new vocabulary. Teacher divides the class into 3 groups. Each group has worksheets with new words.  They write them down in vocabularies. (Appendix2)

They should find the translation of these words: The 1st group translates: environment, burn, rubbish, cut, pollute. The 2nd group translates: pollution, dump, happen, oil, kill. And the 3rd group translates: destroy, red herring, nuclear, caviar, dirty. Then each group presents their translation. Other groups should write the new words and translations into their vocabularies.

These words will be helpful for the students to understand the contents 

of the text “Pollution of the Environment” in their books.

Use

Activity 1. Work with the text “Pollution of the Environment”. (Appendix3)

- Using new vocabulary try to understand what is the text about:

1) read by yourself

2) discuss with the partner

3) discuss in the group.

4) select the text that

- you already know

- the new

- What questions have arisen?

Activity 2. Speaking.

“Thin” and “Thick” questions:

1). Do people pollute the water?

2). Do people cut trees?

3). Do you dump the rubbish?

4). Do you help the nature?

Reflection/student’s feedback

At the end of the lesson each student should say in one sentence what he/she has learned on this lesson. Also students can assess each other for the work during the lesson by giving stickers to each other (as much stickers as higher the mark for the lesson). Try to explain the students that they should be very serious and honest by assessing. The teacher’s opinion is also takes into account.
