Тема: Привычки в еде

Класс: 9 А

Цели: познавательный аспект – к концу урока учащиеся будут готовы к составлению путеводителя по здоровому питанию;

развивающий аспект - развивать способности к комбинированию и трансформированию речевых единиц, способности осуществлять продуктивные речевые действия на английском языке; развивать навыки интерактивного чтения, умения делать выводы;

воспитательный аспект – создать условия для формирования ответственного отношения к здоровью, воспитывать чувство уважения к мнению товарища;

учебный аспект - совершенствовать речевые компетентности, развивать навыки чтения, аудирования и письма.

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Оборудование: учебник, рабочая тетрадь, мультимедийная презентация, запись текста для аудирования

Ход урока.

  1. Организационный момент.

  • Good morning, boys and girls. (Good morning, Iuliana Anatolievna!)

  • I am glad to see you. (We are glad to see you too.)

  • How are you? (We are fine, thanks. And how are you?)

  • I’m fine, thanks. Vova, how is your mother? (She is fine, thanks.)

  • Ann, is your father OK? (Yes, he is. He is OK.)

  • Who is absent today? (All pupils are present.)

  • And who is on duty today? (Stas is on duty today.)

OK. Let’s start our work. At this lesson we are going to continue working at our topic “Healthy living guide”, but the main thing we are going to discuss today is “Food Habits”. Today at our lesson we shall discuss problems of healthy eating, you will learn how and what to eat in order to be healthy. You will do some exercises, practice in reading and speaking and by the end of the lesson you will do an online test about healthy eating. (slide 1)



  1. Речевая разминка.

  • I think I know you rather well. We shall find out if I am right. Listen to my statements and agree or disagree with me.

  1. You have four meals a day. (I agree with you. I have four meals a day.)

  2. People should eat a lot of high-fat food and less fibre. (I disagree with you. People should eat a lot of low-fat food and more fibre.)

  3. A diet can cause health problems. (I agree with you. Sometimes a diet can cause health problems.)

  4. You are sure it is good for your health to get enough vitamins and minerals. (I agree with you. I am sure it is good for my health to get enough vitamins and minerals.)

  5. You often skip breakfast and lunch. (I disagree with you. I don’t skip breakfast and lunch.)

  6. You have a fried meal every day. (I disagree with you. I don’t have fried meal every day.)

  7. You’d like to keep fit and be healthy. (I agree with you. I would like to keep fit and be healthy. (I agree with you. I would like to keep fit and be healthy.)

  8. People’s health depends on their eating habits. (I agree with you. People’s health depends on their eating habits.



  • Now look at the screen and complete the sentences you see there. In your handouts you can find these sentences, as well. There are some words which you can use in your sentences. (slide 2)



  1. Тренировка навыков устной речи и аудирования по теме «Здоровый образ жизни»

  • You look great today. But not all people look wonderful every day. Will you watch some slides? Why do you think they don’t look great? Share your ideas, please. (pupils are working in pairs and then speak before the class) (slide 3-10)

  • Let’s get to the seven important things that are in food and help people to be healthy, strong and energetic. They are: vitamins, carbohydrates, fats, protein, minerals, fluid and fibre. (slide11)

  • Now I want you to take your handouts and find the task No 2. You see here three words: vitamins, carbohydrates, and protein. Now listen to the interview! Never mind if you don’t understand everything. Try to find the answer to the following question: “From what food do we get these things?” Write it in your handout while listening!(sliden11)

  • What have you written down? Let’s check! Have you written everything? Give you marks on your own. But be honest, please! (slide12)

  • Look at the monitor, please. You can see different products there. Every day we cook, eat and wash them. Can you match the word combinations and the pictures? Let’s read the word combinations all together? (slide 13-14)

  • It’s time to open your copy-books. Fill in the correct phrase under each picture. Have you finished? Who will read the word combinations? (slide 15-16)

  1. Актуализация навыков чтения

Now I want you to read the short text about healthy eating (slide 20). And while reading the text you should do the test which you can find in slide 21.

1. Food gives us energy, makes us grow and helps to stay healthy. We need to eat something from all the food groups every day. Fruit and vegetables, cereals and grains, fats and sugar, meat and protein and dairy (молочные продукты).

2. Fruit and vegetables give us lots of vitamins and minerals and help us grow and stay healthy. We should eat five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. A portion is one piece of fruit, a serving (блюдо) of vegetables or a glass of juice.

3. Cereals and grains are things like bread, rice, potatoes and noodles. These foods give us the energy we need. Half of what we eat every day should come from this group.

4. Fats and sugars are things like oils, biscuits, sweets, chocolate and ice cream. These foods give us energy and are important for our nervous system. But too much of this food can make you fat and can be bad for your teeth. You should not eat more than two sweet or fatty things a day.

5. Meats and proteins are foods like chicken, fish, duck, eggs, nuts, beans and tofu. These foods give us important minerals and help us to build and repair our bodies. We need to eat a little of this food every day (about 10% of our food).

6. Dairy foods are things like milk, yoghurt and cheese. These foods give us calcium (кальций) which helps to make our teeth and bones strong. You should eat some of these foods every day, but you can also get calcium from spinach (шпинат) and dried fruit (сухофрукты).

  1. Now let’s discuss why it’s important to еat all the seven important things. Look at the screen, you can see your daily diet here. (slide 22)

  3. Are your family members changing their health habits? How?



  1. Подведение итогов урока, оценки.

  • So you can see that food is very important for people and their life. It is impossible to imagine our life without vegetables and fruit, cakes and sweets, dairy products and meat. As a nation, we eat too much and exercise too little and when we eat, we’re eating the wrong things.

  • Your home task is written in slide 23.

  • I’m pleased with your work at our lesson. I’m sure you know now how to eat well in order to be healthy, strong and active. Good-bye!
