Тема: English in Use.
Цели: освоить во всех видах речевой деятельности новые лексические единицы по теме «Праздники»;
освоить образование прилагательных и причастий на –ed/-ing;
освоить значение и употребление фразовых глаголов (turn);
развивать навыки распознавания и использования предлогов в устойчивых сочетаниях;
развивать навыки во всех видах речевой деятельности;
развивать учебно-познавательную компетенцию через развитие способов учебной деятельности (способы работы с текстом, заполнение пропусков в тексте);
развивать эстетическое сознание через освоение культурного наследия народов мира;
воспитать нравственные ценности и ориентиры;
воспитать дружелюбное и толерантное отношения к ценностям иных культур.
Оборудование: УМК "Spotlight"- 9, под редакцией Ю.Е. Ваулиной, Дж. Дули, аудиодополнение, доска, презентация.

Greeting 1. Беседа.

T: Today we will revise the grammar rules on the theme: Word formation. What is word formation? Word formation is the creation of a new word. Then we’ll practice phrasal verbs (turn) and dependent prepositions.

Grammar 1. Образование прилагательных и причастий на –ed/-ing. Ex 1, p20.
a) Forming past/present participles (-ed, -ing) (word formation)
T: Read the language box. When do we use past and present participles. Complete the task individually.

b) Discussing the topic of a text/ Practising past and present participles.
T: You have a few minutes to think about what you want to tell the class. Use past/present participles in your presentation. Tell the class about what you think of April Fool’s Day.
P: I think April Fool’s day is exciting. It is a great way to play jokes on people and get away with it. I feel thrilled when I play a joke on someone. It’s lots of fun. I don’t get annoyed or angry if someone plays a joke on me. It’s all part of the fun. It’s not just another boring day like all the others.

P: Student’s Day is one of the most popular celebrations with young people in Russia, as it marks the end of winter exams. It takes place on 25th January and has been a tradition since 1755 when the Moscow University was established. On this day students and professors exchange gifts, awards are given to outstanding students and at the Lomonosov monument a cup which symbolises knowledge is lit. There are also musical performances, comic sketches and a magnificent fireworks display in the evening. Student’s Day is loved by everyone but it is especially popular with young people as it allows them to relax and forget about their exams for a day.
